| Hello everyone, I just wanted to let you know I'm switching my blog to blogspot, because I find it much easier to use. I had thought I would figure out xanga after trying it out for a while, but I still find it highly confusing and difficult, so I'm switching. | Well, I made it home safe and sound, and I can't wait to see all of you.  I will do my best to figure out how to put pictures on here, but if I can't figure it out, I'll make sure you get to see them somehow. Also, since I'm home from Tanzania, I'm going to continue this blog, but switch to focusing now on my upcoming trip to Alaska with Habitat for Humanity, and after that with whatever is coming then. | In all my travels, this is the first time I've used an internet cafe in an airport! Just thought I'd let you all know I got this far easily and safely, though take off and landing were rather painful for my ears because of my cold. Now just from here to SFO, and then I get to see all of you again! Can you believe it's been three months?! Can't wait to see you all soon! ~Kalyn | | |
| Hey Everyone, Today was my last day at placement. It was bittersweet. I actually almost didn't make it at all; I woke up with what seems to be a bad cold this morning (headache, sore throat, runny nose, exhaustion, the whole bit). Which, besides making my last day at Upendo something of a drag, will definitely not make the other passengers on the airplane enjoy me much, if this persists. So please pray that God would heal me in the next 24 hours; traveling like this would/will be miserable for all involved. I had dayquil at one point, but I let someone else have it, so oh well. It's just not a lot of fun being miserable... though I guess that's kind of what the word miserable implies  Can't wait to see you soon, thanks for your prayers Kalyn | | |
| Until I get to see all of you again! Can you believe I've been here 11 weeks already? I can remember writing a letter to a friend after being here one week, and saying "11 weeks to go"... now the situation is reversed. I'm so glad I came here, it has been an amazing experience. I can't wait to get home and tell you all about it, and show some pictures (though I'm warning you know, photography is not my forte, don't be expecting amazing photos). It's been hard to be here, often an emotional roller coaster of sorts, but it's also been completely awesome. There are things and people here that I will never, ever forget... that I may even come back to visit. I hope you all have an amazing week, and I'll see you soon! ~Kalyn | | |
